Freshi Film Camp
![]() |
The International Family Film Festival (IFFF) founded in 1993 produces the Freshi Film Camps every summer in Hollywood, usually at the County’s Ford Amphitheater across from the Hollywood Bowl. The camp is a week long immersive filmmaking experience for kids 8-18 at all levels of experience. The campers are put into groups according to their experience-levels and they work co-operatively within the group to concept, write, storyboard, shoot and edit a film from beginning to end within the week of camp. Every day is highlighted with a special session in a variety of areas of film such as make-up, stunts, fights, voice over, animation, effects, etc. There are a maximum of three camps a year in succession during the month of July. The camps have a maximum capacity of 60 per camp. The camp provides unique opportunities for partners to market traditionally through the Camp program book, banners and promotional give-aways to the films that are completed during each of the camps and their filmmakers. Further opportunities exist through booths and demonstrations during the week, special side-events during the lunch hour daily and the food program. Sampling is available to food and beverage companies. Working creatively with the marketing partners, Freshi can include competitions, surveys and test marketing opportunities. Further, the young filmmakers themselves can create promotional films for the participating sponsors or partners that could be used in their campaigns.
